Default Really stupid question....

This is going to be a retarded question and im hoping i dont get flamed for this haha but what does it mean when you have
a 2V 4.6 GT engine?
or i know mach 1's are 32v 4.6.
Idk what the sixers are i haven't looked at mine but what does this mean?

I know its valves but what is does it pertain to?

god i feel dumb.

I'm pretty well versed when it comes to mustangs but i really never thought about this.

2v = 2 valves per cylinder (16v divided by 8cylinders=2v) and 32v aka 4v=4 valves per cylinder (32/8=4) hope it helps for confusion and if I'm wrong..... I'll let others answer first from now on

ohhh haha my roommate was like "yeah the V means Volts". feeling pretty stupid right now.

Whats the advantage of having 4 valves per cylinder rather than two? Does it just allow more gas to be combusted?

It allows for more air to flow through the engine....

I wouldn't put too much emphases on the valve number. It's not the amout of valves that's important, but rather the amount of lift they recieve from the rockers/cam and how big they are that matters most. Not to mention how much tuning goes into the motor which is really the big performance/MPG maker/taker.
