Default Starting issue???

ok so im new to mustangs in general..

i have this "Issue"

its been doing this since i bought the car.. not sure what the deal is..

ok..

when you go to start the car.. mostly first start after itsbeen sitting..
even if that sitting = 10min or less.. so i guess always..

iv been told it could be a possible fuel pressure regulaor issue..
i know you dont "pump" a fuel injected car..

but i can even cycle the key to run the the fuel pump.. several times before hand and it doesnt help either..

the car will crank and crank and crank and crank.. feels like for ever..
and then finally fire up.. sputter for a sec then level out and idle fine..

runs down the road doesnt miss out.. or have any running issues etc.
just the initial start ups..

any idea what could be causeing this issue?
only thing i could think of was maybe the coil pack was going south??
im not much a ford guy.. always owned chevys..

any help would be great! thanks in advance

if it was the coil pack you would possibly have a missfire, stutter/shutter while accelerating, and loss of power. i just changed my coil pack last week

I swapped kind out with a junk yard coil.. no change.. not sure what it is.. cranks and cranks like its not firing.. then it just starts stutters and runs fine..

my 95 does the same thing. acts like it does not want to fire, then fires up. idles rough for a few seconds then smooths out. I asked the same question about a week ago and have not received any response yet. I'm going to check the fuel pressure. Maybe there is a check valve on the return line (if there is one) that sticks or something and it's not getting enough fuel.

Idk.. I dumped a whole bottle of gumout fuel system cleaner in 1/2 tank of fuel this morning before I left work.. it didn't take nearly as long to start.. then when I got home I shut the key off and it fired right back up.. Wich it will do sometimes and sometimes it just cranks for a bit.. so ill check on it in a bit see if there is a change.. since your 95 does it.. tell me should the theft light be on the whole time your cranking till the engine starts or could my issue lie there

fixed!!!

the feed line from the pump/sending unit.. to the tank cover had a pin hole..

i would have never found it seein how it was an internal fuel leak lmao..
good thing i bought a fuel pump thinking that might be the issue..

not considering my new spare fuel pump price.. it cost me $6 to fix
