Congrats kid. At least your mind is in the right direction, Always go performance first and save the cosmetic for later. Now heres my advice to ya. Save up another 2 grand and buy a good used GT. Trust me kid in the end you gonna wish you had when the big boys pull up next to ya rumbling and growling. You most likely are just ready to go out and buy that V6 model because your young. I get that, but if you can dig deep and find another year of patience you can find a v8 for about 6 grand. If you absolutly cannot wait then get the v6, get all the boltons for it and slap on a 100 shot nitrous kit and you can blow the doors off some stock v8 models. its all for you to decide.

Welcome, and happy to see your looking at a Mustang at your young age. Most teens are into FART BOXES. The mods sound good for a start. You don't want to get too involved until you get some time and experience under your belt. Hope to see pics soon. Again welcome. I have the MAC System on my GT. It's been on there for 9 years. The rumble is great on a V8. Hope you get a good rumble from your 6 cyl.

No problem. You'll get there/ Its gonna take some time getting your mods together, and I if you have any mechanical knowledge you can save alot of money on labor install. But anyways goodluck and hope to see your mustang on here soon.

Glad your thinking about getting a Mustang! In all honesty insurance on a V8 really is not that much higher than a V6 partly because insurance companies do not know which model you have because it is not a requirement when you register the car. I would have loved to have bought a GT as well but it is just not practical for me. I wanted to have fun while I was driving, I would really rather have a mustang that is gonna last not as long than a toyota or something else that will last longer partly because I want to have fun when I drive. Part of the reason a V6 is the best choice for me is because it's my daily driver, so it's not practical for me to pay for gas prices of a V8. And I live in New England where we get a lot of snow, I would rather muttle through the winter in a V6 than a V8. The only time I would ever think of getting a V8 is if I got a beater car to drive most of the time so I could keep my mustang nice.

I know that for my big Graduation present there are ideas of getting me a 2013 Mustang but even then the car will still be a V6 for gas reasons, and just being reasonable. But If you honestly want to go with the gas prices and you live in a reasonable area, I would for sure get the GT. Just as extra thought though it would be much better to ding up a V6 than a GT even though it will be your second car.

Thanks again everyone . So what I'm hearing is the insurance company won't know of I have a v8 gt or a v6 ?
Also it's going under my mom age so it will be cheaper . What do y'all pay for insurance ?

They will know the difference from the vin number, the thing with mustangs though is the insurance is about the same because its basically the same car, if it is involved in a wreck it's still the exact same body parts, so either one costs about the same for them to repair.

That's real tough to guess, it depends on your moms driving record, what insurance company, your moms age, the year of the car, any discounts you might be eligible for.........

Best thing to do is search online for some free quotes from like progressive and geico and whatever.
