I never really used my trunk so I never questioned why I never had a light in my trunk. I assumed no bulb was installed or was blown. Now as I am finding myself using it more and more and having to use a flashlight to see into it at night is getting on my last nerve! Problem is, I do not know where the socket/bulb is supposed to be located (Or if there even is one) I leaned backwards in and looked all around the trunk, only finding the tailight (High mount) bulbs and speakers. Where should the bulb be located?!

It's a 98 Base model v6

**If it is supposed to be located in the center of the trunk lid, behind the trunk latch mechanism, is there supposed to be a socket? All that is present is a two hole plug and wire (See photos below)

Actually its not at the trunk latch. It plugs in there but the light bulb is actually on a bracket up at the third brake light.

Most unusual. I still cannot find any kind of socket, wire leading to one still. All cords leading to the third brake area are plugged into the brake light. Only that one cord in the first picture has nothing attached and no apparent purpose.

When I can tomorrow I will post a larger/clearer picture of the entire lid and such.

So, I searched once more, still no evidence of a socket/bulb. Here are better pictures of my trunk from different angles.
