Hi there, I am installing new fuel lines from Classic Tube on my 1998 Ford Mustang. I was just about ready to install the small (roughly 18 inches) run of hose/steel line/quick connect that runs from the fuel pump to the fuel filter, when I ran into a slight problem: the fuel line stubs that come out of that pump are too big for the quick connects.
My friend recommended I try some petroleum jelly to make for slick mating surfaces, but no success after applying it. Took a picture of it, to contrast it with the diameter of the lines I received from Classic Tube. Those stubs are indeed bigger than the fuel lines from Classic Tube. So, what's next? I was thinking about buying some fuel line reducers of some sort.
Anyone want to chime in? Would greatly appreciate the help.
