Default question about next mod

Any of you out there with a supercharged 3.8 still using the 7.5" rear, or did you up grade to the 8.8". also what would have to be done to the 7.5" rear to still be functional. I hear from many that the 7.5" is only good for 300 hp. I plan i getting a 11 psi procharger in the next few months and i dont want to have to waste money on my stock rear if it is pointless. I was planing on getting 4.10's b/c i have an auto, but is it better to use 3.73's for this application.

I would PM Nanaki for suggestions. He's a boost head, and one of the few I would take advice from. And believe me, that IS saying something.

i assume you are getting a centrifical supercharger, i would say in that case go with 4.10 gears. also, get a diablo hand held, but also make sure you get a dyno tune when you get the blower installed. also would you be running on forged internals or no? about the rear end, talk to either nanaki or matthockey.

the 7.5 will be fine and hold much more than 300rwhp but here are a couple of things you will need to do to make sure the rear lasts

1. Detroit Truetrac or Auburn Pro Series LSD available from http://www.drivetrainspecialists.com...duct-5407.html or http://www.drivetrainspecialists.com...duct-1038.html
2. complete install kit richmond gear part# RMG-8310451 available from www.summitracing.com
3. TA Performance rear girdle and bearing cap stud kit girdle part# TA 1805 stud kit # TA 1816B available from http://www.drivetrainspecialists.com...ford-75-1.html

have everything installed by a reputable tranny/gear shop and follow a proper break-in procedure to ensure the new bearings seat properly without getting too hot

my sugestion for tuning needs is contact Justin at www.VMPtuning.com

he is about the best V6 tuner out there and has awsome customer service and very competitive prices on SCT Big Air MAF SCT custom burned to your application chip or SCT X cal

here is a pic of my girdle on my procharged 98

you will like the gears. i have 3.73's and prefer them but 4.10's are just fine. they will take some getting used to with a procharger infront of them

BTW the red circles are where my girdle hit my procharger fuel pump. you won't have to worry about that since you have a splitport
