Guess who's bottom end exploded today!!! I have no idea why this happened at all. I change the oil regularly with Mobil 1 every 4000 miles and I was just about due for an oil change within the next week or so. The only thing I can think of is that there was the slightest head tic that had developed around 95k, but at 96 (when I changed the oil) it went away and hasn't returned. I wasn't driving the car hard at all, just cruising at about 55mph and it just gave out. there's something that broke through the bottom of the oil pan and I can only assume its a connecting rod. We'll find out tomorrow when I start to tear it down. anyone selling a block and/or heads???

Edit: whoop whoop! 500th post

If it blasted through the oil pan theres a chance the block is fine IIRC.

Omg my last motor did that! The oil pump got sludged up(dunno how I changed the oil every 3000 miles) and lost. A connecting rod that obliterated everything lol

LALALALALALALALALALALA do not tell me it obliterated everything, I just won't hear it! hahahaha but realistically, I found a decent shortblock locally for just a couple hundred bucks with the rotating assy and all. Probably going to just clean it up, throw some new bearings on, re-hone cylinders and call it a day, then see what I can do about some heads
