Default Newbie, a couple of questions

So my 22 year old daughter is back from college. She has had a 2000 V6 since freshman year in HS, so 8 years. The car has been great, it never brakes, I do maintain it. My question is, it has a few bumps and bruises. The aluminum wheels are pretty thrashed (maintenance nightmare) I want to buy some new wheels, painted or chrome 17 inch, I would spend 125.00 per wheel, any reccomendations???

Also it has 90,000 miles on it and I need to change the valve cover gaskets, is that pretty straight forward?

Thanks in advance

gaskets are quite easy- just pull the covers and replace. just dont tighten them too much.

as for wheels, you can never go wrong with Bullitts at that price.

Yeah bullitts are a good idea. You can search craigslist and sometimes find some 5 spoke GT "starfish" rims and tires for under $400.

valve cover gaskets are straight forward, i dont know the exact torque spec for the bolts but they are defintely not that much, maybe like 7 ft lbs
