Hey guys. For my first car I just bought a 96 Mustang with a v6 that needs a little love.
Seeing as how I am new to the forum and new to Mustangs in general, would it be okay for me to come here to learn as much as I can during the restoration of my car and ask questions to those more knowledgeable? Or would I be better to find a site more beginner-friendly?

Welcome to the site. Since you used the word "restore" I would suggest fixing the broken stuff first, then work on enhancing the rest of the car to your taste.
