Default Do breaking Mufflers in result in different sounds and performance?

I see alot of people saying once the flowmaster mufflers and others have some miles to them, that they sound better. Does breaking mufflers in Do anything performance or sound wise?

Mellows the sound depending on the construction of the muffler. I'm not sure if ALL aftermarket mufflers settle down after a while. Mine did.

But doesnt settling down mean that it will not be louder or deeper? I heard they improve after some miles are put on.

Mine for example sound deeper, not much of a rattle and smoother now.

I have GT mufflers, and the sound did change as the mufflers seasoned. I originally put one GT muffler on and ran it a few hundred miles that way, then when I added the duals it sounded really weird because one muffler was broken in and the other wasn't! After a few hundred miles they matched up and the sound mellowed out a lot.
