Default Can anyone verify this?!??

So, ive been riding around with my stock airbox lately because ive been running 75 hp jets, and i recently changed my stock air filter to a K&N air filter, when i was at the shop the guy told me i could use K&N's intake on the car without a tune?!? I mentioned that these PCMs were sensitive to any change in airflow and he was like "no offense, but i know a lot more than you"..... so since that really didnt help.. does anyone know whether or not the car will in fact run lean with the K&N air intake?!?!

According to K&N, you can use their CAI without a tuner. Much like the AFE.

I know for a fact you need a reflash with the K&N intake. I was running way too lean and my car spluttered like it was getting way to much air. However i heard something about as long as you haven't tuned the car at all, and you disconnect the battery for 15 min, then its supposed to....supposed to retune with the stock, but that is just hersay.

K&N has 2 intakes one that needs a tune and one that doesn't.

I've said it before, but you do not want an intake that doesn't require a tune. That is an indication that the intake isn't a good one. A good intake will reduce restrictions and get more air into the plenum and make your car run lean; thus requiring a tune to add more fuel into the F/A mixture ratio. If an intake doesn't require a tune, it means you're not getting much (if any ) improvement over stock.

My K&N did not need a tune, but I must confess it ran a lot better with the tune. If you are looking for one, I have one on sale on ebay. Decided to go with a C&L/SCT set up from Evolution.

Are you talking K&N drop in filter or the CAI? The drop in dosn't need a tune, but I would with the CAI regardless.
