Default Shaker 500 problem

The other night when i left work my radio did not work. It seemed to be really delayed like when i turned it up it took a minute for the bars to go up but still no sound,. Then i turned it off and again it took a minute to actually turn off. I stayed that way for 10 miles when I got to a stop sign with nobody behind me. I turned the car off and restarted it went away then.

Anybody else have this problem or no.

Also does anybody have a wiring diagram of the stock radio harness. Want to put in a aftermarket radio.

Yep, they have nick named it "breaker 500" "skipper 500" lol. Some one was saying in an earlyer post that there is a TSB out for it. A couple of people have had them replaced and they still skipped. Some people have theres forever and they don't skip. Mine does it offten

I haven't had any problems with mine, but still plan on replacing it as soon as the model I want come out.

On the wiring harness why not just buy a harness to match...they sell them where you buy your stereo, and that eliminates all the trouble of know which wire does what. That way you just wire the new stereo to the new harness and then plug that directly to the factory ford harness.

Mine did something like that once; it wouldn't respond to any button, after a few minutes it went away and hasn't done it since.

One night, I picked my friend up, and we were jamming. All of a sudden, it became unresponsive and the text became all jangled. I pulled over to the side, and turned my car off, and opened the doors, only to see the text still lite-up and the CD skipping horribly. Once I closed the door and started her back up, it was fine. That was the only time it's done that.
