Fastest N/A 4.0L - Street Tires?
Hey everyone,
I got to Lapeer dragway on Saturday in the 90+ degree heat to do some practice runs. The car settle into 15.50's early in the day, and after a slight cool down the car was running 15.30's. I was starting to learn how the 4.0L likes to be shifted and posted multiple 15.0's. I saved my powershifting for the end of the day, and it put down the number of 14.81 @ 93mph. With cooler temps, I can expect 14.50's near 95mph. Most cars will pickup a few tenths in cooler weather. I have some expensive mods happening over the next two months, and hope to put the car to 14.0's by September. Many people said it would be hard to do, and I've proven what can be done with simple parts. I share this milestone with everyone at Alternative Auto in Mt. Clemens, Michigan.
Remember the fastest N/A car is a 13.90's at almost 100mph, with slicks and stripped car. (no passenger seat, no front sway bar, no shaker 1000 amp, skinny front tires, a/c by-pass, etc.) My goal is to acheive this type of performance with an everyday driveable vehicle.
You can look back thru my previous posts to see my mods, if you are new to the forum. I look forward to hearing from anyone that has taken their car to the track, and hear your times. Just a little bragging rights for everyone, my little V6 car beat a 2003 Mach1 in the 1/8 mile!
Hope this helps, and talk with you all soon!

Sorry I didn't make it out to Lapeer... I knew it was going to be a very hot day so I opted for a car show insteed (where I took 1st for "1980 to present - custom")
Sounds like some nice runs towards the end of the day! Looking forward to hearing more about what you and Lidio are up to!!! LOL!
BTW... was there any traction to be found at Lapeer??? LOL

definately sweet times man, what mods you got? My best street tire run is 14.53 (14.34 at sealevel) here in phoenix arizona. Ive been pondering the thought of keeping it N/A until the temps go back down to sub 110 lol (id like a few 50 or 60 degree nights to run) so i can test all my new mods out at the track. My goal is to go 14.2x at my elevation, which is 14.0xs at sealevel.
