Jealousy and envy are odd things, aren't they. Mustangs are the great American icon. You'd know it was a Mustang no matter what year it was made. You really can't tell a V6 from a V8 unless you know the subtle design cues. And with all of the aftermarket and take-off inventory available - you can place ten Mustangs side by side ..... all would be different from the others, all would be a rolling representation of the owners personality ..... every one as unique as the individual wants it to be. Now, what other car can do all that, still be a V6 and can become as fast as you want it to be?
Well they used to be sublte cues, but Ford really blew open the difference in appearence with this body style IMO.

Not really, the only real difference is the badges (which were always different) and the grill.. It used to be the GT's have scoops and the v6's didnt.. I think the grill is much less noticeable to the average non Mustang owner/enthusiast because well, when you think of a hood scoop it just screams "performance" while some fog lights seem to say "style" more.. dunno if that made sense to you guys but it did up here *points to head* [8D]

There's more than that. I'd have to agree with rebelyell06.

The V6s have no fog lamps, a smaller front fascia with a smaller and raised lower grille; side skirts are a cheap plastic black matte; single exhaust with no accent; tribar pony badges; and 16" rims and 215/60/16 tires (doesn't even begin to fill the huge wheel well).

The new edge stangs were just missing fog lamps, single exhaust, pony emblems, different hoods, and smaller wheels. But from a distance, they look identical.

Thanks for the compliment on our section, we've been getting bashed quite a bit by the mods for a few weeks, it's good to hear we aren't as bad as we're being told we are! BTW, F all those haters; we love our V6's!

I was just reading a post and someone brought up the hatred for the v6's. I have gone into other forums to see what other people say and do (its fun),lol. There is one common thing though in all forums-V6 MUSTANGS ARE SLOW-. I for one am very tired of this, as i am sure all of you are. Even cars that are slower or on par with us are calling us slow and it makes me sick. There have been very few good comments. I am not going to post any conversations for the fact i wanna keep this civil, but it really gets annoying. I know posting this wont stop the common misconceptions, but i just wanted to put that out there and get some responses. By the way, i like this section better than the standard v6 section. There is more variety in here, and a little more mature. Hope you guys dont mind me chillin in here

p.s. Guess we will have to change other peoples opinions one at a time, lol

I actually find it amusing now!!! Like Scrming said, I try to educate people. But man, I find it so funny when someone at the track looks at the turbo when my hood is up, and shakes thier head. Then I do my runs, and the real mustang enthusiasts come around. These are the guys/gals that really appreciate stangs, even the mustang II (yes I am a fan of that one too!). They know what a SVO can do, they know what a old 5.0 LX can do. They respect what a new V6 can do and respect the strength of a modded stout 3.8/3.9 motor.

A stangs a stang. Anyone else who doesnt appreciate that, are those who will probably buy a ugly *** Charger next year. Lots of people that only care about engine size are just that, not true car nuts like the pure stang owner.

Ok, done with my soap box.

I totally agree with you! Our Mustangs have a uniqueness that most cars could only wish they had. How long has the Mustang been around? Did someone say 40+ years? Wow, am I missing something here.

My cousin had a kickass '78 5.0. It was red with the huge snake on the hood and factory skirts all the way around. Had the red leather interior. It was a great car.

I think our V6's do a great job of keeping the pony car tradition alive. Let's face it, with the continuing climb in gas prices, V6's may be all you'll be able to buy in the not-too-distant future.

I think the bad wrap that we get has been earned. We all know that our 4.0's are much quicker than the 3.8's, and as quick or quicker than some 5.0's. But for years, everyone has gotten used to the 3.8 slouch. They're not aware that the 4.0 is a quick car, and very respectable with minimal mods. I had a 95 V6 5 speed, and I believe it had like 140 or 150 horsepower... not a very fast car by any means. That's what most people think when the hear V6 Mustang.

Like any car, there are the modded 3.8's that are definitely respectable, but they're rare.

yea, i have alot of experience arguing facts about our new sixers. Some of you including rygen and scrming may remember my thread about cobaltss.net that you guys came over and helped argue on lol. Well, i have around 150 posts there, most are just technical things and helping people out, but every once in a while i have to argue. It seems that MOST, not all, other forums are full of idiots who think their cars are the best at everything. i was on focusfanatics.com the other day and some guy posted a poll asking if he should get a fusion or a 4.0 and almost all voted fusion. I read down because i had no idea why, and it seems most of these svt focus owners think they are faster than us stock for stock. I actually got in an arguement with a kid on cobaltss.net over wether or not the stock internals on the lsj motor could handle over 800hp....he still beleives they can. IGNORANCE.
