Default Tuning and Warranties

There has been alot of discussions on here about tuning our cars and the concern of voiding the warranty. It has often been said that since the tuner stores the factory settings that if warranty work is needed you can simply reload the factory settings, replace the original airbox, and the dealer will never know. While I don't mean to question the knowlege of those with vast more experience, I am sure I'm not the only one who is still a little sceptical about this. So for those that have a custom tune, has anyone here actually done this and did you have any problems getting your work done?

as far as the intakes they will notice without replacing one way to avoid this is if your dealer installs the intake so you dont have to keep swapping. as far as the tuners go ive never had a problem in previous cars they do restore factory settings very easily with no trace of it ever being there so you would be safe there.

I can top that one... LOL!

Not only did I have the numbers on the windows. and helmet in the backseat... I had my Nitrous completely installed including the wire spliced into the Throttle Position Sensor which is the part they replaced! LOL!

That is what I wanted to here, but I would assume it would depend on the dealer. I'm not trying to be a nervous ninny but just want to have all the details before I spend 600 and maybe throw away a couple of grand from warranty. Several people have said there was nothing to worry about but you are the first two who have said they actually have had work done since the mods. Scrming and Fazm are your dealers in to perfomance or just a run of the mill type?
