Default had a little break in

So yesterday I go out to my car only to find that the handle has been partially pulled off the door. It looked like someone had been messing around with my baby. I opened my car to find only a few cd's missing. Although nothing was stolen i'm still pretty angry. Also now i can't unlock my door with the key so if my remote battery ever dies i'm screwed. anyone else have a similair situation occur to them? also anyone know how much this would be to fix I don't think this will be covered by my insurance

I dnt think the base alarm is an actual alarm i think its just a beeper on the key pad because ive tried to set it off and it never does...I think its an upgraded kit from ford that makes it actually beep if the cars messed with. Ask your insurance you would think that it wouldbe covered if it was a break in. If not just go to the ford dealer and ask how much, my guess they would pry charge around $100 depending on the part price and labor. If you have warranty you could always try and say it broke when you were opening and see if theyll fix it lol you might get lucky.

Have insurance cover it and then take the cash and put it towards having the door handles shaved off. I'd rather have a busted window that's easy to replace than deal with body dings/scratches/and bending and repainting that might be obvious in the right light.

Ya i forgot about the deductable, deductables are lame because how often do you turn anything into the insurance? You pay them for pry a couple years without having a problem so you would think depending on the extent of the damage if its not major, like less then a certain number they would just cover it.

I would just replace the door handle its alot simpler, shaving the door handles would take alil bit not to mention be more expensive on labor and repainting the door.... Although shaving the door handles would look nice.

ya my insurance isn't going to pay for it. Shaving the handles does sound like a pretty tempting idea anyone here know how much that would run me with labor etc...
