Mustang and Explorer
I'm just wondering since we have the same engine as the explorer, right? we have the same HP rating but the explorer 4X2 has 14 more lbsft of torque, I remember seeing some site that had the mustang rated at 254 FTQ too.....

RE: Mustang and Explorer
the numbers are partly pulled out of someones ***. They test a bunch of cars, take the lowest rating and underrate that, so nobody will pop it on a dyno and then sue ford because it only made 235 lb/ft of torque.
They probably just rated the mustang a little less. Also the engines from stock would be tuned differently. They could have tuned the explorer to have a little more torque, since it'll be geared differently, and have bigger drivetrain components to handle the extra 14 or so.
