RE: Huge Problem - Advice needed
this totally sucks. As for what the salesmen say....they will say anything to get you into a car. I have learned that everything they say you need to get it in writing. salesman told me that my first oil change was free. I mean dont you think i should get a first oil change free if i just got dont paying almost 30k? yeah so good luck with this man and hope all turns out alright.

Theres no point in replacing the pilot bearing throw out bearing or the pressure plate, unless theyre damaged, all you need is a new clutch disck and to get the flywheel resurfaced.

If you are going to New York-don't stop in Chicago. When it is apart-REPLACE the throwout bearing, pilot, new or reman pressure plate and resurface the flywheel. Don't be cheap-it is alot easier and less expensive to replace these items when it is already apart than after it is together and find out there is a problem.
If Ford is not going to cover it, buy a reman pressure plate and disk-when yours is out have them rebuilt for spares for the next time. Yes there will be a next time if you are running the car hard.
If you find yourself slipping the clutch alot to take off or mostly city traffic driving-maybe 3:73's or 4:10's would be the next upgrade.
Good Luck-

Someone just posted a link on the 4.0 collective for new aftermarket clutches, check it out.
ORIGINAL: ST4NG
Well if I do go ahead and get a new clutch, its going to be aftermarket. What kind of performance clutches would you guys recommend?
I'd also be interested in installing it myself if anyone has any experience, i've got time, and some knowledge of cars. I just need to know what kind of tools I would need to perform the job.
