MRT installed!
Hey!
I've had the same problem with my Flowmaster Ameraican Thunder, axle-back single exhaust on my four point 0, V-six.
I spoke with PR4.6 about different setting on the x-cal II to get more power to the rw's for burn out's.
He told me to change the WOTshift-pressure points and advance the spark. This gave me a much faster take off, of the line and with that made the muffler sound less noisy (drone)
I fine with these mufflers, if you keep your foot on the gas pedal, than you will get this nasty drone sound.
But if you hit the pedal to about 30-40, than let up off the pedal and that should help a little.

In theory gas milage should be a bit better, but if you like to make noise, the heavy foot will make it worse. The sound will get better also. As for the rattle; this is caused by the mid pipe being to close to the black cross bar under it. The MRT hangs a bit lower and lessons the clearance. To fix this the mid pipe has to be rotated clockwise (I think). I found a pretty easy way to do this: Loosen the mid pipe bolts to where it connects to the y-pipe. Then losen the bolt on the axle back. Shove a piece of a 2x4 between the mid pipe and the black cross bar. Finally tighten everything up and you should now have plenty of clearance over the cross bar and for the tip and bumper clearance.

yep, exactly!! Great explaination!!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one that took off the Mrt cause of the drone. One post here a 19 year old did too. I didn't see the power increase at all. I now have a GT take off single and I love the way it sounds and .... NO DRONE!!
After reading some of the comments on this thread I'm glad I didn't buy the MRT. It seems like quite a few have bought it, only to sell it soon after.
I'm getting my Magnaflow axle back tomorrow and hopefully the drone will not be an issue.

what i don't get about mufflers and people these days....they want to have an axleback and hope to have a muscle car sound. It's a v6 and it's gonna need a hell of a lot more than an axleback for that. i'll go far enough to say that the MRT is hands down the best axleback for the 2005-2007 v6 mustang regarding power and in my opinion, sound

3 guys is not quite a few... considering how many guys like me like their MRT... Prior to the MRT I had the Magnaflow axle back... The MRT Aero-Turbine is a better performing and in my opinion better sounding exhaust than the magnaflow... and the MRT is less $$$$
