I'm sure MRT will thank you once again for the free advertising. Like I said, I don't race my car so it's a moot point for me. My normal shifts on the street don't get anywhere near 5800. More like between 3000-4500. If I did race, I would have bought a used Porsche 911 or similar vehicle.

I paid for my MRT exhaust... I paid for the dyno time out of my own pocket... This thread, that was not started by me, is about an MRT being installed... The fact is I traded MY Porshe in on my Mustang...

If you don't race then you really shouldn't comment about racing...

+1.....................Red knight ....you were the one that said that the MRT would not make the 1/4 even a tenth of a second better. And now you start switching saying you wouldnt race....... listen to screaming........he knows whats hes talking about.......and dont bring your bitchy little attitude around here ........ you'll get hated really fast.

This thread was started by you regarding some issues you were having with the MRT exhaust. Based upon that original post and some other comments that were made, I simply stated my opinion that I was glad I didn't get an MRT exhaust because of the droning and other issues mentioned. Some folks that already had an MRT then started to state how great the MRT is. That's their opinion and they are entitled to it, just as I am entitled to my opinion.

Besides, if everyone agreed on everything this forum would be very boring . Ideas are exchanged through diversity of opinions based upon peoples experience and perceptions. I don’t have any problems with that and I don’t get offended or upset by words posted on internet forums.

well that's just fine and dandy, but the fact of the matter is, the mrt shows the best gains by a pretty large amount as far as these systems go, and scrming, although his car is pretty much the mrt-tress, has alot of experience with this, and the dyno doesn't lie. stating your opinion is fine...even going too far and kinda insulting scrming will usually be let go, but there is proof that mrt is the highest performer and shows very good gains.

I'm not questioning or debating that issue. As I said before, I didn't buy the MRT because of the droning that has been mentioned and also because of the mounting problems that have been encountered.

droning is going to happen on any muffler you buy if u got a stock setup to the axleback. Think about it; its the same piping with maybe an inch or two difference in the exit. It's just the difference of how loud the drone will be. Personaly, as long as I don't get pulled over, I want my car to be as loud as possible lol.

I like the drone...its fun to say drone while droning and driving...or driving while droning...w/e...All my friends think it sounds mean so its staying. I thought about changing it once but realized I never heard it while not in the car. Soooo... I made my mother drive it (she grew up in the 60s and 70s and drove many 4-speed muscle cars so I trust her) and...she made passes by me accelerating in 2nd and 3rd gear and the thing just sounded awesome....Never thought about changing it since. Don't be mean, let someone drive the MRT past you b4 you sell it.

About what RPM range does the droning occur and has adding X or H pipes seem to have made any difference?

I just got my MRT today and will be installing it later this week. I'll finally know what the hell everyone on this thread is talking about. Oh and I picked the MRT vs all others based on the review at v6john.

Fist off Scrming has done an excellent job of documenting the modifications he's made to his car and from reading his web site I think it is readily apparent that what he reports is based on his experience with the products and not on an association with any particular shop. I thank you for a job well done, it is an excellent resource for the all of us.

I do question the claims made on the AT muffler though. Scrming reported, if memory serves, a 10 HP increase estimate with his first muffler change and 7 more (dynoed) with the AT for a total gain of 17 RWHP. While I'm kind of concerned about the loudness of the AT (A yellow Mustang attracts enough attention from the Man without blasting him with exhaust noise) I was very interested in the HP gain. Then I read where Justin at VMP had dynoed Rebecca's V6 with no muffler and only recorded an 11 HP gain. That means the AT is making more HP than a straight pipe, which is difficult to conceptualize. I have also raced sailboats so I'm intimately familiar with the application of Bernoulli's principal. An airfoil like a airplane wing or a sail, develops lift (a low pressure area) above the curved surface of the airfoil by forcing air to accelerate over the curve in order to arrive at the trailing edge at the same time air passing under the foil does. However, there is an inherent drag caused by the airfoil itself, so there is an energy loss. I do not see how the AT muffler, or any muffler for that matter, could accelerate the exhausts gasses exiting your tailpipe and increase power beyond that which the same system sans the muffler could produce. I could see that they could accelerate a portion of the flow through the muffler between two points inside the muffler, but the exit velocity should be affected by such movement and result in disturbed exit flow and less HP. It would therefore seem that any muffler will cause some loss of power.
