Default Pony Grill Question

First of all, I've used the search and didn't find what I was looking for. Not to say it wasn't there, but I didn't see it.

Here's the deal. Got a friend of mine the Pony bumper with the fog lights and it's installed. Now the wiring needs to be done. I have the plugs for the lights but my plan is to get a GT switch and relays and wire those in.

1. Does anyone have a schematic of the V6 wiring with the color codes also that I could get?
2. Is there a wire for the GT fog switch in the V6 harness or do I need to install one? I've seen something about an orange / light green wire.
3. If there is a wire, where should it be spliced into at?
4. Is there a place to hook the power in the fuse box or is it easier to put an inline fuse to the lights?
5. What's the cheapest place to get a GT switch?
6. Any idea how many amps the pony fog lights draw (I'm making the wire harness at work)?
7. Is this enough questions?

I might be able to figure it out when I get to the car and see everything but wanted to get all the info I can before then.

Gots it at the house in book form. The pdf is in another post on the subject.

2. Is there a wire for the GT fog switch in the V6 harness or do I need to install one? I've seen something about an orange / light green wire.

The wire is most likely there from the headlight switch
to the SJB. If the SJB is not programmed for fogs, this
wire does nothing.

3. If there is a wire, where should it be spliced into at?

The wire you want is on the headlight connector and needs to
be cut there. Also another wire needs to come from the fogs
for the stock Pony/GT switch fog indicator to work. 2 wires
from the front hood area to the stock headlight switch.

4. Is there a place to hook the power in the fuse box or is it easier to put an inline fuse to the lights?

No but there is an open fuse location for the fog relay.
Modify a fuse a with a pigtail and use that location.

5. What's the cheapest place to get a GT switch?

Ford dealership. $90 or so. Maybe someone who
did a fog light delete grill would swap you out.

6. Any idea how many amps the pony fog lights draw (I'm making the wire harness at work)?

Lets see, 45 watt bulbs at 12v. 45w divided by12v = 4 amps or so times 2 = 8 amps or so. The
stock wiring harness uses 16 guage wires for the main power to the fogs.

7. Is this enough questions?

No way, lay em on me.

I might be able to figure it out when I get to the car and see everything but wanted to get all the info I can before then.

Oh yea, the wire that turns on the fogs (OR-LT GR) grounds the relay coil
instead of supplying 12V to it. Wire accordingly. Yo might want
the option of the fogs coming on with the high beams as well.
Just one more relay and wire to hook up.
All the info is at home and I am at work.[:@]

Setting it up to turn off the fogs with the high beam is the easy part and I had already planned that. I wasn't sure what wattage the bulbs were. Now that I know, I'm sure the 18gauge SIS I was thinking of using will be fine.

I haven't found that pdf for the wiring. Any idea where to find it?

Thanks a lot for all the info.

I looked at that post and never saw the PDF link. Must be from working in the sun all day. At least that's the excuse I'm going with.

Thanks again.

Not turn the fogs off with the high beam OEM style
but modified style of them coming on with the high
beams even if they are turned off. I like doing
the flash-to-pass to other Stangs when I see
them out and about and I wanted the highs
and fogs to flash in that situation. I searched
fog light posts and come up with about 50 or so.
Search thru them. The info is there (and at my house[:'(]).

OK manual in hand.
Pull your non-GT headlight switch
and check the plug for a orange/lite green
wire and a violet/orange wire. The
OG/LTGRN wire grounds when you
pull the fog switch out and the VIO/ORG
wire is the fog indicator light. Clip these
two wires if you have them about 6 " from
the switch and tape the wires you cut that
go into the harness. Connect two wires
to the two wires from the switch connector
and run them out to the fogs and relay
coil respectivly. The OEM fog fuse is
F58 and its in the power distribution
box under the hood. Get a fuse adapter
with a acc pigtail and use this slot and
fuse it for your wire size. I recommend
16G or better. Dont think 18G will cut
the mustard. Too much voltage drop
and your fogs will be dim and yellow
instead of bright and white.
