WTF happened!?
So I was acting stupid tonight, racin people and then i found a empty parking lot and started doin donuts , i had half a tank and about 2 miles later i hear a ding saying i had 15miles to empty, WTF!? how did i loose all that gas? while driving i smelled a burning smell but couldnt tell what it was comeing from, then it went away, is it possible my gas leaked out? or did i knock a sensor, how the hell did i loose a half tank in 10 minutes?

RE: WTF happened!?
It's possible if you start it back up in the morning the the dash info that tells you the amout of miles to empty will will reset and with the correct info . The burning smell? Hopefully from burning rubber lingering from those donuts and not your clutch

if it still says its low take it to the dealer. i know my buddy had the same thing happen one night. we were in a parking lot and all of a sudden his gas tank just droped to zero. PM him if it doesnt get fixed. (8cd03gro)

RE: WTF happened!?
dont take this the wrong way, its not completely directed at you.
but i mean, you were doing something foolish, stupid (and of course fun) and damaging your car. something failed because of it. temporary or permanent, who knows. but i still dont get why people always say take it to the dealer. if you break something, you fix it. dont try to pin it on the dealer. when they have to fix stuff for free, it drives the cost of cars up for everyone.
and now, my opinion on the problem.
if the donuts were all done in the same direction, you likely just swished all the fuel to one side of the tank. since its a saddlebag tank, you can have more fuel in 1 side than the other.

RE: WTF happened!?
well thanks for all the replys but i fixed it myself, i waited a few hours then restarted it to test if it ever resetted and then after seeing it still low i put 20 bucks in (normally half a tank) and when i restarted it, it was back to full so problem solved, i guess the sensor just got borked, thanks for the replys though guys! =D

I found the problem. This is the what is known as the 1D-10-T error that occurs quite frequently amongst our younger enthusiasts.
