Default Got my JLT installed.

I already had a tuner for over a year now. It ran pretty good, but not great. Been using a 91 tune. I purchased the JLT CAI and got it put on today finally (I have the worst luck with not having the right size tools for what I need with this car). Got my new tunes in an e-mail. An 87 and two 91s...I think. Problem is the email said they were 91 tunes, but the filenames say 93, so I'm confused as to what they actually are. I don't want to risk using them until I'm sure, so I had to go with the 87 tune for now, even though all the gas in the car is 91.

I can tell a difference though. Right now I'd say it's on par, or even a little better than the 91 tune was by itself. Tires chirped between 1st and 2nd for the first time, and when I floor it I can really feel the car drop and start going. So, now I'm really anxious to get the situation with the other tunes sorted out so I can get everything out of it. There was a big difference between 87 and 91 before the CAI, so if the CAI feels like this with an 87 tune, I can't wait to feel what the 91 is going to be like.

I've noticed the JLT rattles a bit, especially at lower speeds. Is there a good way to tighten down the filter end more so it doesn't do this? Or can I add something to dampen the noise.

I noticed the heat shield can move around quite easy, and with only one bolt securing it, I assumed it would rattle right away. What I did whas just cut out a square of sponge/foam and put it under neath the bottom leg of the heat shield so it wouldn't move or rattle. All good after six months!

Mine was rubbing on the underside of the hood after I first installed it. I used a plastic zip-tie to hold it down in place. No rattles or rubbing.

ChldsPlay - Why did you get two 91 octane tunes? What's the difference between them?

I have 87, 91 & 93 octane tunes.

i dunno how the JLT is but the heat shield for the C&L has a little hole right next to the ABS lines. mine was rattling but then i saw that nifty hole and zip tied it to the ABS lines, no more rattle

One is a torque tune, the other performance. Torque increased power more in lower RPMs, perfromance increases power more in higher RPMs.
