Default Warranty info

I just installed a flowmaster american thunder on my 2007 v6 mustang for now and was wondering if I take my car in for it's service at the dealership will ford give me a problem about the muffler. Can they void the warranty, because I really don't want to switch muffler back to stock everytime I have to bring my car in for service. The car is fine nothings wrong, Just worried they will say something becauseI have a different muffler. Thanks for your help

I've had my front brake rotors replaced under warranty with my GT-Takeoff muffler and they didn't say anything about it. Unless you have an issue with it not working and they find that hypothetically your engine died because it wasn't building enough backpressure or it had too much backpressure caused directly from your muffler (which is pretty much impossible to happen with one single bolted on muffler), they won't and can't say anything. They definetely won't say anything during an oil change unless they're just striking up conversation and that's if they even notice it to begin with.

Thanks for the help everyone. Two questions. I keep hearing a wierd lowcrackling sound in the dash when the car is ondon't know what it is but hasnt effected the car in anyway does anyone have or know what it is. And is a singleflowmaster American thunder better or worse then a single stock gt muffler.
Thanks

I think that a lot depends on your individual service manager. The one that I is great. They installed my gears and T-lock. The rear end is still covered under the warranty. He told me that my X-pipe and GT takeoff's wouldn't hurt the warranty. I got a little sick of loading the stock tune back in every time that I tool it in for service, so I asked him, hypothetically of course, if changing to a custom tune would void my warranty, he said that it wouldn't. Now I leave my Bam ma tune in when I take my car for service. I've red enough posts to know that my situation isn't typical. But, it might not hurt to ask a couple of questions. Hypothetically, of course.

My experience so far is the same as 68XR7's. The service manager said "most Mustangs get modded - no big deal, just remind us so we don't reflash your computer." He then followed it up with "so did you get rid of the stupid throttle lag?"

When I took mine in for the first oil change (free) the service manager asked if I had done something to the exhaust. It had a single Flow Master on it and it was very loud. I told him no that it was stock. Then I asked if it would be a problem if I had changed the muffler. He said no problem as long as the converters had not been changed. Now I have a CAI and tune so I do not take it back to the dealer for oil changes anymore.
