You can but it may suffer some power loss as a result of a loss of back pressure.

I didn't see any power loss when I went to duals. And my track times probably bear that out, now affect one way or the other. The duals are more of "cosmetic" change than a performance change - the rear end looks more balanced with them.

Just to state the obvious: Yes. I just put a GT takeoff system on my mustang saturday.
It's pretty fun stuff. Takes a little work and muscle, but in the end I was glad I did it myself.
I got a JBA H-pipe cat-back system (minus the JBA mufflers) from v6mustangstuff.com, and the gt takeoffs came with my car when I bought it (the original owner was going to do true dual... sometime I guess lol). Took me a good 8 hours but it's done and the car runs great. If anything it feels like it breathes a lot better, especially down low.

Yes. You will need to purchase a GT bumper or cut out a hole in your stock bumper. Unless of corse you already have some sort of duel exhaust.

The engine (any engine) likes a little resistance in the form of back pressure. That's why when you run open headers or a exhaust system that has too large of a pipe, the power drops off. Ever wonder why they put a 2 1/2 inch pipe on a car instaed of a 5 inch?

Yes but the 1 pipe Y configuration of the stock V6s is a little too constricting on the engine. We have 6 cylinders vs your 8 cylinders, not 4. If we had 4, then 1 would be ideal, so 2 dual exhausts are probably best. I've noticed a better full range. A slight bit better, but better none the less. Sound is what I'm after, but you'll also notice a +1-2 MPG increase with GT takeoffs.

theres no loss in power. and yeah were only talking about adding a second pipe of the same size. were not adding a 3" dual exhaust with electric cutouts. theres some common sense involved.

wait, WTF the GT catback literally bolts right on other than adding a hanger? Thats really surprizing.

You have to bolt your pipes at the Y pipe dual entrance (literally right after the cats,) and place in your X/H pipe in place. Then you have to cut your YPipe off from the stock over-axle pipe and replace it with the H/X. After that, remove the over-axel pipe (if you have both pipes, leave it if you don't) and stock V6 muffler. Then place the two mufflers in place (assuming you have both hangers and the hole cutout) and attach the two pipes to each of their respective mufflers. After that, connect them to the H/X in any way you desire (welding or bolting them with a GT clamp set) and you're done.
Actually, minus a little cutting.. I guess it is a bolt on...
