RE: finally, pics of Odyssey battery install
Hi all, the Odyssey battery is a dry cell battery equal to orin my choice of installation, a more powerful battery than the stock one that comes in the 05 and up V6 Mustangs. It's sold on the web through West Coast Batteries, Inc. Here's the website if you want to check it out. http://www.odysseybatteries.com/applications/auto.htmMy specific battery model that they recommended for installation on mycaris PC680MJT. You'll see it on the website. I've had this battery in my car now for about four months, and it works perfectly fine. It puts out 14.6 volts and is perfectly compatible with the stock V6 electrical system. The stock system can work with anything NOT OVER 15 volts. The stock battery weighs about 45 lbs. Quite a difference in weight. I paid$142 for the battery and $73.78 for the aluminum billet battery frame. Here's a photo below of the battery. Take care all, Jack.

RE: finally, pics of Odyssey battery install
Hi Lane, when you say aftermarket stereo I suspect you're speaking of a system somewhat equivalent toa stock Mustang system. Allaftermarket systems are going to be in the 12 volt range but differ in wattage. Remember the electronics in a car run off the alternator's power when the motor's running, not the battery. My stock radio works fine without the motor running, but I don't know how long the Odyssey battery would power it before it goes caput. I'm sure it would be many hours. If you're talking about a high wattage aftermarket system with a lot of draw on the electrical system, you may need a higher capacity alternator to handle the system's needs. I'd recommend talking to a Ford dealer or a radio shop for system needs. Does the battery put out 14.6 volts, that's what I was told by the vendor when I spoke with them. Get the telephone number off the website that I mentioned above and call West Coast Batteries and talk to them about your specific needs. Take care and smokem', Jack.

thank's jack, youre right about it running off the alternator, sorry about that. but yes im talkin about a stereo that putting down about 1200 watts, and my car does fine with the stock battery/alternator (so far). i was just thinking about how an amp is typically rated for rms wattage at 14.4 volts so the 14.6 you mentioned got me thinking that it would give me almost exactly the RMS of the amp instead of just a little under. thanks for your reply, sometimes we just need a little reminder. i might just have to look into one of those battery's though since its more powerful and lighter than stock. thanks for the reply and the thread, im always looking for newe improvements to make and any help is appreciated, especially when it comes with pics! hah. thanks

RE: finally, pics of Odyssey battery install
If anyone is seriously interested in purchasing one of these batteries and installing it, I'll be more than happy to provide more photos and specific hardware details of how I installed my unit. You can use my info as a guide or point from which you can do your own install. Contact me at jwilhelm@comcast.net if I can be of any help. Take care, Jack.
