Cutting the bumper is really easy and not a big deal actually. There is a template to follow that has been posted on the forums, and there isn't anything behind the bumper that you can hurt:

+1 on the truth the best way to go about this would be to share your thoughts with your Mom and Dad and Bring them into this Forum and show them your Interest here and let them read your posts and our replies let them see the facts and the others that have done this and how simple it is. After they have a chance to see what you want and get educated to the process of how it is done and why. Your parents just might surprise you by helping you out as much as they can or they might not. One thing is true they will respect you and love you for sharing your love for this car and letting them be a part of your lifes interest.
