Supercharger vs Supercharger, Which one?
Check out the X-Charger group buy in the sticky section; I think there's one unit left and you'll get a $400 discount from Explorer Express's list which is lower than Steeda. I have a X HO kit and couldn't be happier. The install won't cost you anything because you can do it your self...very easy.

O man I'm dying right now... lol
Even forgot what I was gonna say haha... Ok first of all Steeda did not make the X-Charger nor should they have any credit for it. I've been to Steeda head quarters and its a mess and not very friendly. Explorer Express came up with the X-Charger. Second... Vortech is known for their superchargers and IF Steeda did make one I would go for Vortech no matter how much cheaper Steeda was.

Oh, I know Steeda did NOT make the X-Charger and VMP didn't make the Vortech. I only said "Steeda X-Charger" because thats where I plan to get it from. If I get the X-Charger, it would be from Steeda. If I got the Vortech, it would be from VMP. I just happen to associate them together so people reading wouldn't be confused about where I was getting what from and so on.
It sounds scary but the X is really not hard to do. There are probably 30 of them on this forum and the one doing the GB and I think all but one did it them self. There are plenty of people who will help you too, either by phone or in person. The X community is probably the most helpful bunch you will ever meet. PM me if you have any questions; I'd like to avoid this thread becoming a pissing contest between FI types.
Well, so far, this is what people have been telling me.
Don't go with Steeda.
X-Charger is for everyday drivers.
Vortech has more power than the X-Charger.
Low-end torque from the Vortech can be fixed with a smaller pulley.
X-Charger is really easy to install. Cheapest.
Is that the summary you think? Or does anyone have anything more to add?
Again, any information or personal experience is helpful.

They're all good for daily drivers, the X is just more like a stock engine feel, but a much larger stock engine. The centri type without an intercooler is cheaper but much more difficult to install so may be more if you have it installed by a shop. Figure out what you want to do with your car and make a decision based on that. I.E. do you race at the track a lot? Do you do auto cross, or open track? Or do you just want more stop light to stop light power?
If you get the X you better buy it direct from Explorer Express!! Then also you wont have to pay tax. I would install both myself but the X is deff easier than the Vortech. When the intercooler comes out for the X you will be temped to get that also and would be a good addition. If I had to decide between the 2... well I donno what I would choose. Watch some videos, read some more, you will eventually make a decision and which ever you choose I'm sure youll be happy. Maybe even try to find someone with a blown 4.0 and ask for a ride
You could also go with a powerhouse turbo and make a lot more power...
