General question: If a "person" had a K&N type filter in their stock air box, would that function the same as a open style CAI? Do you have to have the open air box type in order for a tune? (to work correctly)

I know when you put CAI you need a tune, and all that jazz, but someone with a tune tell me.. can you feel the difference?! when you punch it can you really tell the difference, and are you like wow? im talking about a 93 tune for a 05-08 GT. can you feel it?

I have a C&L CAI with tunes from B.A.M.A and yes, you can definately "feel" the difference. A computer tune is only required when the size of your Mass Air Flow tube (that hose going from your throttle body to your airbox) increases in size. IF you get a K&N drop in filter, you CAN get a custom tune, but it wont be as good as increasing you MAF tube and adding the cone filter. This is a relatively expensive mod, but I highly reccomend it. I've read that if you have an automatic, this mod is almost necessary.
