So I installed my nitrous system today...
So, I just finished installing my nitrous system on my 4.0...
I went with a simple sneaky pete system from Jegs.
I haven't had the chance to try it yet, and won't for another week or two (I'm waiting on my XCalibur to arrive with the nitrous tune).
There aren't many places to install a nitrous bottle on the car, except in the trunk but I didn't want to install the bottle that far away...
Amazingly enough, there is a LOT of room up under the steering column... I was able to fit the bottle in, attached to part of the metal subframe inside the dash... the only part that sticks down that you can see is the regulator on top of the bottle, which makes it easy to open and close the bottle, but doesn't make it obvious that a bottle is there...
I'll post again on the subject once I'm able to test the system out...

You have to pick through some ads on the site to read it, but the story is a real eye-opener!

RE: So I installed my nitrous system today...
were I using a 'real' nitrous setup, I would agree with you completely...
but I am not using a 10lb bottle or a 15lb bottle as in your link...
the sneaky pete system I am using holds a mere 10 oz of nitrous...
while I agree I need to take caution with the bottle... one use (aprox 5-10 seconds) and it's empty...

You'll need to haul around a 6 pack of bottles Personally I'm holding out for someone to make a supercharger for the 6

RE: So I installed my nitrous system today...
Honestly, I really don't like nitrous... but I have always wanted to do a nitrous install and to have the chance to push that button and see what actually happens (maybe that's a lame excuse for the nitrous, who knows)...
I'm waiting for the supercharger too... hence why I went with such a small system/bottle (if I'm only gonna use it till the supercharger comes out, aint no point in putting the best system available in it now)...
FYI - Explorer Express is working on adapting the supercharger for the 4.0 explorer to work on the V6 Mustang. They are the only company that I have found thus far that is working on one...
I've also been considering attempting to install a turbocharger, I've read a few posts that suggests you can build most of the plumbing you would need to get the turbo to hook up propperly... so you wouldn't need to wait for someone to make an aftermarket version...
guess I need to read/research more before I attempt either..
