Driveshaft Failure!!!!!!
The Shaftmasters is easy to swap in. If you aren't changing to an 8.8 rear end then it is simply unbolt the old shaft and bolt in the new. And yes, if you plan on lowering the car get the 3.5" shaft to give you proper clearance.
Awsome, Well I will have to find someone around me or a shop to give me a hand because I have no lift, no jack, and no tools, and know no one since I moved from Cali lol. 3.5 it is though. And I do plan on swapping to a 8.8 with 3.73s so when I do that I will need a flange right?
Right, the 8.8 requires the adapter flange (regardless of what shaft you use, 4", 3.5" or stock) - which you can pick up many places, and some of the sellers of the 8.8 will sell it to you with the flange already installed which is a good way to take care of it.
The shafts are different for the V8 and V6 - the V8 comes with different flange options I believe, but the V6 doesn't because the V6 with the 7.5" rear end is a direct swap. The flange adapter for the V6 is only needed when you change the rear end to the 8.8" rear end from the GT - then it doesn't matter what shaft you have, you need the adapter flange at that time. Otherwise for the V6 it is a direct swap - and for the GT it is a direct swap with 2 options on the pinion end.
