I did some dyno testing when my car had a 4.0 and was NA. It showed no gains between X and Y, so on a NA car, single exhaust will do just fine, its more a looks/sound thing for a NA 4.0 car if you go duals.

ok, can anyone with a takeoff GT H-pipe verify something for me?

is the stock GT h-pipe connected to the stock GT cats? like are they one piece? or is the h-pipe an individual piece connected to the cats and then to the mid pipes?

and when you installed it, did you have to cut your stock exhaust after the V6 cats?
basically how is the h-pipe set up?

Go H-pipe or two H's its all about balancing pressure to optimize low end torque and backpressure.

Standard H 2 H's

My friend is running the 2 H setup on his 66' to help equalize pressure, it would be awesome if someone with a 6 on this forum could try it out and let the rest of us standard H Pipers know.

a few guys have just had the muffler shop fab up the h just below the trany. basically its just a short pipe coped at both ends and slid between the two pipes. most good shops can make one up

From what I know the best V6 set up for performanceis no h no x (this is for V8 sound balance)but straight from headers !
Reverse Y pipe on the stock Y is just like a big X pipe or am I wrong?

I thought our cars came with Y pipes ? what exactly does the term "true dual mean" does it mean your running a single pipe all the way from the converters at the front all the way to the exhuast at the back of the car for each side or is any dual exhuast "true dual"

Also flowmaster recommends H pipes on their site and says with testing they've seen no signifigent difference in performance cause I could careless about 5 hp gained from X pipe, H is better for low end torque which I'd much rather have .

also who makes double H pipes ?

also anyone know where I can get a good priced H + mid pipes alone I already have mufflers.
