2007 Mustang - airbag light stays on
Anyone else here with a 2007 that's having issues with the airbag light staying on? I've brought it back to Ford 5 times so far and each time they tell me there's nothing wrong with it??? They've hooked up the computer to it and haven't found anything and keep claiming that if I've got something on the passenger seat that doesn't weigh a lot it might cause the airbag light to come on, but I don't have anything on the seat and the light's on!

My airbag light comes and goes. It flashes a code 12. Took it to ford and they didn't fix it. Told me nothing is wrong.I haven't taken my car back since and don't think i will. I'm gonna try to get the part i need under warranty and do it myself. Mine is a 2007 also. I've looked at the ford diagnostic manual and says to replace the restraint control module for myproblem.

ok.. a few things.....
there was a recall on 05 06 models for air bag deployment...i dont believe this affects that light.
if you have something that weighs less than 35 to 40 lbs in the seat the liight will come on. it is a safety feature so that people dont put their kids in the seat if they dont weigh a lot.
mine is off as long as there isnt something in the seat...for example...when i come from work i put my backpack on the seat ...in it are some folders ....a can of soda and two water bottles...the light comes on.....
i doubt its broken...
one of you mentioned the car was throwing a code...if you give me the code i can look it up in my haynes book....
hope this helps...

By any chance do you have an extender plugged in to the seat belt? With my convertible I have the seat belt extender because the shoulder strap can't be adjusted and it hits in the wrong spot. So I have an extender from Ford that plugs in to the seat belt (it looks like a very short seat belt) and if it is plugged in to the passenger seat the system reads that someone is sitting in the seat with the belt on, and triggers the light because they are "too light" since no one is in the seat.

take it to another dealer, and/or call ford customer service and tell them they are refusing to fix the problem

RE: 2007 Mustang - airbag light stays on
I received a passenger airbag recall letter from Ford several months ago for my 07.
They reflash the restraint control module.
Have your dealer check your vin for recall#08C02.
They should have done that, but sounds like theymay beincompetent.
