'96 Ranger 3.73 Gears To My '07 'Stang (Possible?)
Hey all! I'm in the process of procuring a set of 3.45 gears for my '96 Ranger (7.5" 3.73 gears), and was wondering if there would be any issues of putting the 3.73s in the 'Stang. The Ranger only has 56,xxx miles on it. And yes, it was owned by a little old lady, my grandmother. So, the gears should be in good shape. I know I would need to reflash with my XCal for the new gears. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Peace!

they should fit fine. there is a possible issue of undesired whine though since the used gears have already developed a wear pattern which won't match up exactly when using in a different vehicle. i'm just relaying what my shop told me. i also had a set of used gears i wanted to install but my shop highly recommended not doing it for this reason along with past unsatisfactory results (he was talking about street cars only... off-road vehicles wouldnt matter). i trust the shop that did my install but i believe that the used gear issue is not as common as they made it seem. others on the forums have installed used gears with no issues. good luck dude.
