Getting an S197 inspected and licensed with a carbed motor may not be possible in every state. Consult your local requirements before pulling out your wallet for a motor swap.

That's a very good advice HopUp...
Here in FL, we don't have to worry about this so I'm not used of thinking legal applications when altering cars.

I wonder if you could put that car in the exotic category or something of that nature in the inspection States...

For the emission states, I would recommend keeping a spare set of mid-pipes on the side for the inspections, and put 2 cats and maybe an air filter rig on each pipe, and then hook them up when that time comes. I have also heard that putting a few gallons straight alcohol into your tank will get you a clean emissions run every time.
