The 8.8 thats
equipped for ABS
just means it has the
ABS sensor rings installed.
You dont have ABS or the ABS sensors
so the rings will just be spinning in air doing
nothing but enjoying the ride. Be sure
you get the 8.8 with the pre-installed
V6 pinion flange. And check that
the lube level is up to the
bottom of the
fill hole.

OLDGUY - I did both of those mods to my V6 and got the parts from Newtakeoff.

Took a full 8 hr day to install the leather, but it came out GORGEOUS! Everyone says "I can't believe YOU did that!"...

The axle was installed by a speed shop - that took only 2 hrs. Worked out great.. it's smooth, quiet and the 3.73 gearing is PERFECT for my style of driving!

I split it up over 2 evenings after work. I did the rear the first night, very easy, only took a couple of hours, taking my time. The next night took a bit longer, but you have to disconnect the battery ground, pull the SJB #17 fuze wait a few minutes (I used this time to remove the bolts holding the seats down) before disconnecting the seats. It took about 4 hours doing the front, most of that time was spent on the first one, after I had it figured out the second one was much faster. The hog rings were the hold up for me. I painstakingly pryed open the originals and reused them. Someone mentioned using zipties, that may speed things up, but I don't know how durable they would be. If you have a digital camera, I would suggest taking some pics of where everything goes beforehand, it can get confusing, especially on the rear bottom with its "spaghetti" of straps going everywhere.

I would like black carpet, it's the other item that gets filthy no matter what you do.
Do you have any pictures of the black seats vs the light gray interior? I have a light gray interior and am very interested in seeing what black seats look like against it.

Use hog
rings for a durable and
lasting install. Plastic zip ties
degrade over time with exposure
to ozone and metal
hog rings dont.

No pics, went to grab the camera to snap some for you, but the batteries were dead. Soon as those charge up, I'll post some.

not bad, I think if I got some black seat covers i'd see about maybe painting the base and hardware on the seat.

That's definately an improvement over the stock cloth though, that stuff is awful.

I'm not sweating the base or the other hardware bits that are light graphite. Notice the dark-on-light dash, the dark-on-light console... it flows with the rest of it. If you do decide to paint it, you'll want to do it at the same time. It's not fun dealing with that piece.
