Default Quick offset question

I'm interested in some 20x9 American Racing Razors that have +40mm offsets.

I fully understand the offset concept BUT I wanna know if the width of the LIP on the outside of the wheel is different on a +24mm offset Razor vs. a +40mm offset Razor.

I know the 40mm wheel is more wheel tucked in under the fender well but does this come at the cost of a smaller outside lip vs. the +24mm offset?

Thanks 157db

Why would one choose a +24mm offset over a +40mm offset?

Well, got it figured out. The +24mm offset is to accomodate the Brembo brakes on the GT500's.......that's it. LOL!! The width of the lip doesn't change on either wheel....+24mm or +40mm.

I run 24mm offset in the rear and 40 mm offset in the front. It gives my car an old school staggered look. Keep in mind though running a 24mm offset in the rear will make your rear tires stick out a little past the fender, so be prepared to have some d-specs to tight the rear or they will rub.

On a 9" rim?
Tire still passes the quarters?

Yea about 1/4 to 1/2 inch out. I had to get an adj. panhard bar because you can definitely tell the difference when your tires stick out.
