Default filter question

Have a question
has anyone tried a Fram Hog Filter or a KNN air filter and if so, has it helped your performance on the 05 4.0?
Am new to this, have a 94 and now an 05.
Who says you only need one? LOL

I put a K&N in my 05 4.0 V6 and....
Can't say I notice much of a difference. Maybe a little bit more spunky but It ain't much at all.
I don't have any other mods yet either.

I put a K&N replacement filter on mine today. If it made any difference, it was minimal.

I put a K&N drop-in and a GT muffler on mine. These types of mod's offer tiny incremental changes and you shouldn't expect to notice a difference. It does sound a lot better, but I can't tell by feel if there's a performance improvement. Really to feel a difference you have to do something radical like supercharger/ turbo or nitrous.

I did notice a slight gain in MPG with the K&N (about 1-1/2 MPG improvement).

Thanks for the info.
Just looking for something that will help out a little bit in mpg and takeoff. Seems like a lot of hype on K&N and was wondering if it was worth it.
Would love to do something radical, but dealer told me to behave till warranty up....whatever that would mean

I'm in the same boat.
I'm not doing anything radical until the warranty is up.

For now I'm going w/ the K&N filter and a Magnaflow exaust.
