Why do they bother making two different kinds?
I don't really think there is any type of fitment issues at all.. it seems kind of stupid to have two different types of setups because the mufflers are different.. not even different really.

Well, I'm guessing they will have shipping charges so it'll come to around $300. Then the install costs, so around $400 for duals. Which is not bad at all, do not take me wrong. If I were you, I'd sell those take offs for like $50 then find a nice set of GTA's or other mufflers.

That seems like a nice kit. I might pick that up for my V6 as Im about to do a dual exhaust. Just have to decide between the GTA's or GT Takeoffs.

Seems like this is the better deal since for $299 you get the X pipe and other pipes as well. When I look at the price of the GTA'a it is $299 for just the mufflers.

Has anyone installed this kit? My big question is should this just snap on or will I have to do some soldering? Does anyone have a link to a picture filled install guide?

Are you thinking about doing the install yourself?

If it is just a snap in install I think I can handle it. If it requires soldering I will most likely take it to a shop. I wanted to see detailed instructions to see how difficult it would be.

If it isn't simply slip-fit together and clamped, it would be welded (not soldered). A rather different process that actually melts the two pieces of metal together instead of bonding them (more like glue).

Various types of welding equipment can be used, but if you don't have any of them the only solution is to take the job to a shop or perhaps a friend who has it.

MT muffs are a bit more free flowing and make a bit more agressive sound. nothing really significant from those who compared the two but i guess it sorda makes sense why ford did that. the GENERAL thought is that MT drivers are usually more "sports car" inspired and AT drivers are usually more casual drivers. there are obviously exceptions to this thought, myself included.
