If I wasn't set of the FRPP dual kit, i'd definetly go with the NewTakeOff/Pypes setup. I haven't seen a better deal for duals ($299!).

If you want a good balance of sound and price i would highly suggest the pypes mid-muffler system with the x-pipe, I've had mine for quite a while and i love it, low rumble at idle, aggressive revs, and under load it sounds wonderful going down the street, compliments all around, and shutting up stock gt owners that rev at me a truely clean sounding system, bought from RPMoutlet.com for about $400 and installed at a family shop for $50, not bad at all..

the cat pipes are 2.25 inches, the intermediate pipes are 2.5
on V6 systems. X pipes would have 2.25" inlet side and 2.5"
exit side. Some adapt a GT X pipe to V6 cat pipes and weld
the joints cause you can't slipjoint them w/o leaking. The Gt
X pipe is 2.5 inches on both sides Some use a reduction band clamp.

I installed that $299 setup and completed the job on my back in my driveway within a few hours. The only complaint was they mis-marked the mid pipes and the one they marked LH was really the RH and so forth. I quickly noticed it when I laid them out, so I didn't have a problem once I got under the car. The GT takeoffs sound just fine. Throaty and none of that "tinney" sound like some of the more expensive mufflers.

They definitely help the K&N CAI...

The muffler tips do stick out from the rear of the bumper a little, but when you actually look at them from the side, they are no farther out than the outermost part of the bumper. I would love to find some of those little black bezels that come from the FRPP kit, but I can not find them anywhere on the net.

Almost forgot Max... The warranty coverage can be denied only if the aftermarket part caused the malfunction or damage for which warranty coverage is sought. Do a google search of The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. If the dealer tries to deny any warranty work just because of an aftermarket part being installed when that part did not cause the failure, tell them you need the phone number to the district representative so you can file a complaint and explain the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act to him.

Looks nice. Did you cut out the back bumper to add the dual or did you buy a GT Takeoff? I also would be interested in a pair of the black bezels if anyone knows who sells them seperetly from the exhaust.

He just cut the bumper. The GT bumper has a raised area around the bottom. It looks pretty good. I'm considering getting this kit and buying the GTAs later on.
