Default Question about ice on windows

Since our windows roll down an inch or so when you open the door, how do you prevent the windows from getting damaged during an ice storm? Is there anything preventive to do before a storm? I just don't want broken glass.

A car cover would prevent ice build-up on the vehicles surface.
The window motors are 'smart' motors.
They sense the increased stall load and ramp down the
motor voltage accordingly. So if the windows wont move
because of some sort of binding (ice build-up) the 'brain'
decreases the available amperage to the motor so no
damage can occure.
In other words, I would not worry about the mechanism
as much as the closing opf the door with the glass in the
fully extended position....

+1 on a car cover.....only thing is, if it rains then freezes, it's best not to remove the car cover until temps rise.
I keep a car cover on mine all the time. It cuts down on dust, pollen, bird doo and keeps water spots off my car.
