Default Burning/hot glueish smell?

So basically for about the past week now whenever I get out of my car there's this burning/hot glue smell. Now I'm really not very knowledgeable when it comes to mechanical stuff with cars so I don't know what I should be looking for. Anybody have an idea what could be causing this smell?

Could be you just got a plastic bag that was blowing around on the road stuck to the hot exhaust somewhere. That'll cause a burning plastic smell every time it gets hot.

Mine smelled just like that for about 3 months after i installed my exhaust, I used muffler putty where the pipes meet and under the clamps. Now i get little wafts of it every once in a while but not nearly as often.

You sucked a plastic bag into your exhaust system somewhere
under the vehicle. Crawl under and have a look see.
Darn that WalMarts and those plastic 'can only hold two items'
bags. I buy 10 items and end up with 5 bags when I get home??

Just be aware it prolly won't look like a plastic bag anymore. You're looking for a brown/black bubbly area on the exhaust, probably shiny.
