Default not running right?

my car is a 07, and it has 37,000 miles on it....i just recently put a s&b CAI on it, and i was racing with a oldsmobile alero today, and i came from behind him and got right beside of him, but couldnt get on around....i dunno wtf is up, i should of been able to smoke him, but i couldnt, i dont know why, maybe something is right with my intake? on the MAF sensor there was supposed to be rubber washers on it, but i bought it used, so there wasnt any, would that cause a air leak?...i dunno, it just doesnt seem right. thanks

HHHMMMM.....that's odd. Is your Mustang an automatic or 5 speed?
The Alero GL/GX only has 140 HP and the Alero GLS has 170 HP.
My stang is a 5 speed and I can drop down in gears and get her moving pretty good.

No tune, No gears, No power adders, you are at best 180 rwhp... A CAI alone will not give you much gain as far as rwhp.. you need a tune to go with it.

Without a tune, your air/gas mix could be messed up since you put on the CAI.

I have the Airaid CAI, which does NOT require a tune, however some CAI's do require it.
Does your S&B CAI require a tune?
If so, this maybe your issue.

i dunno wtf is up with it, cause we have a place marked off here that we all see how fast we can get from one point to another, and it was runnin like 80-85 every time....now im hittin 90, plus that guy did have a little bit of a jump on me, and i had to back off b/c of an on-coming car, so it might all be in my head
