Default 2005 stang electrical problem

Hi,
First post...
I have a 2005 and yesterday, both my key fobs stopped working. The batteries in both check out OK. I went to check the fuses and can't get the fuse box cover off!
Can anyone shed some light on what could cause the remotes to suddenly stop working and how do I get this danged fuse box cover off???
Thanks!
Aaron

UPDATE:
Using the procedure in the owner's manual, I reprogrammed the fobs and they now work, but not like they did before.
Before, one press of the lock button would lock the doors and flash the lights. Two presses of the lock button would lock the doors, flash the lights, and chirp the horn ONCE.
Now, one press locks the doors. No lights.
Two presses locks the doors, NO lights and the horn chirps three times.

PLUS - now my headlights (only, no other lights) are on dimly when ever the key is in the ignition. It didn't used to do that. They are not on fully, just about half regular brightness.
I don't like my headlights being on all the time.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Water leak on your smart junction box? Search and you'll find many posts on the problem.

The carpeting in that area doesn't seem to have any moisture and we did get a pretty good rain last night. This car has other leaks though, so that's not out of the question.
How does the fuse box cover come off? I've pulled on that thing almost to the point where I think it's going to tear out of the steel...

Your fuses are not bad.
Your SJB is a big ol green mess of galvanic corrosion.
Its stealership warranty time for you.

Cant get the fuse cover off.......
Thats a new one.
I thought I had heard it all......
