So now ford is telling me that water is not causing damage to the alternator.. but they think that because i have HIDS and my pioneer touch screen radio wired into the car, they think im over straining my alternator.... so they recommend a new more powerful alternator or a capacitor.. what do you guys think.
Alternators dont reguarly die from exposure to water.
Never have and never will.
First strike for the Ford Techs.
A cap is not the answer.
It stores energy, it does not produce it.
Strike two.
HIDs actually draw LESS current than the OEM filiment bulbs.
Strike three.
And Pioneer TouchScreen does not pull more
than the crappy Sahakers. Unless you have a monster amp hooked to it.
Ball.
So them boys dont know sheit and are trying
to sell you a ?cap? or a bigger alternator.
The OEM alternator is big enough for your application.
Its crappy Ford alternators
It was designed to fail right after the warranty period.
Get a quality PAPerformance alternaor and fo get a bout it.
