Yep, after thinking bout the vent pocket that one could
place a small child in, it would not be that benificial.
If the front strut towers were flexing enough to
warrant a brace, the paint would soon be all cracked.
An A-Arm brace is 100% more benificial than a strut tower
brace and some (most) didnt come with one.
Crawl under and check.
My 07 didnt come with one (????) but I soon added one....

It's for a GM which surely could use something to help firm up it's weak unibody. But the S197 doesn't really need one unless you're pushing it hard enough with a very good suspension system underneath to tell the difference.
I was getting opinions first. But after a few days I found one on sale so i hopped on it quick. I could definitely feel the difference, I mean its not night and day but you can feel the difference cornering.

Made it from some 3/8" thick cold rolled plates and an old S197 Panhard Bar.
The ends are attached to the vehicle to get the proper angle then tack
welded and removed for final welding and painting. Beats the heck
out of the swingset material OEM brace that verts and some coupes
come with OEM. You can go buy the cheapo OEM brace from Ford
but expect to pay for it.....
Plus the OEM mounts in SLOTTED holes.
How does this provide rigidity, Ford?

There are aftermarket braces available.

I run this K-Member brace and there is a very noticeable difference in the stiffness up front in conjunction with my FRPP strut tower brace. Of course I do get out on the open track and autocross quite often where I absolutely push it to the limits!

I think you would be better served to get that brace under the front, not on top, and if you don't have one yet, get a rear anti-sway bar. Stiffen it up a bit. Might also look in to other subframe bracing.

I like this idea, I actually haven't seen these before. I will be making one of these for myself.
