Default V6 mustang fog lights question

I just got my license and been looking for mustangs for sometime. GTs are really cool but mileage is better on the V6. Well any way I dont like the look of V6 if it doesnt have gt fog lights and not the premium package foglights either. So my question is how easy is it to install gt fog lights on v6 2005+ mustang. I know i would need a new grill with fog light cut outs but what about wiring or controls. Would it be easier with v6 premium that has the small fog lights or does it not matter.

Its easier to do a pony package V6 (premium) to GT style grill
and fogs. The headlight switch is already there in the PonyPackage.
Its also easily doable in a basic V6 but the wiring and switch along
with the SmartJunctionBox logic for fogs is not there.

I did a basic v6 fog upgrade and used a GT/PP headlight switch,
a relay and some fog light connectors.
If you are up to wiring, then the basic is for you.
If not, the PP is what you want to get.
Search V6 GT Fogs and see the previous posts.

I know it's a matter of personal taste, but because of the GT Foglights is one of the reasons I didn't want one.
I really like the Pony Package front. It reminds me of the '67 Mustangs.

This will no doubt get me into trouble but the difference in mileage between the 8 and 6 is not that large. Back to our regularly scheduled programming

True they are close, but they are not the same. Even if it means I save $4 more on gas a week, it will add up in a years time!

And even if costs were almost the same, I can rarely recommend a GT for a first car. I know I'm not that much older than the OP but I can say that some kids are raised to be able to maintain and handle a V8 and some aren't, and it's better to learn all that stuff behind the wheel of a 6.

Congrats on the license, Joe, good luck with your soon-to-be mustang!

I have a base '05 and have a GT front on the way and am planning on doing the Eleanor style grille with a CDC chin, is all I'd need for the fogs the switch and wiring harness? Besides the grille and fogs of course. I've heard that some early base models have a wiring harness already, is that true?

Nope, no base models with the fog wiring.
define 'switch'...
I did the GT headlight switch for OEM look mand functionallity.
But the ol $1.99 lighted toggle from AuToZoNe will work fine.

This is the switch I'm talking about:

But I'm pretty sure I know what's involved now, been looking over threads for a while now. Just not looking forward to the expense of it all but that's part of the fun
