Sorry ODDY, I've got to get in there...

Conejo 172, you proved more than once on these boards that you can be a moron, and with great success.
And I'm not ASSuming on this one.
Mommy and Daddy (if they were alive) don't buy me squat and I'm old enough to be your Dad!
LOL, so who's ASSuming now?

My post was directed to "MustangFirstCar" for one thing, and second, if he has a problem with something I say, I'm sure he's man enough to tell me about it without making a @ss of himself.

Don't come back with a smartASS remark on this thread, you're already walking on thin ice.

For the rest of you with deleted posts, everything is cool. Just keep on topic.
End of interlude...

up until some of the more recent import auto's I simply just don't believe you when you say that you will never shift faster than an auto.

I could shift my first car, a 99 VW Golf faster than my auto Mustang shifts (of course I could stiffen it) but the point still stands, there are few auto's that can be shifted faster than a manual.

Please correct me if I misunderstood the question.

OP, look for a car under 50k miles. There are really good deals out there for V6's and GT's. Just look around.

I was in your shoes two years ago, im 19 now, and when I was 17 I had the choice for 06 v6 or 05GT. I Picked the V6, It was 4000 cheaper, gets better gas milage and when i test drove both the v6 sounded better then the gt. (It came with a dyno max dual exhaust) The gt had much more power and it was noticable, but still just because it is a v6 doesnt mean you cant put power in it. I would go with the v6 if I were you

And a little side note my friend just got a 05 Gt a month ago and he is already trying to sell it to get a v6 and put a turbo in it.

I am not able to find any of these "deals" you speak of... cheapest v6 with under 70k miles is $12000 and cheapest GT with under 70k miles is $15500... Ive been searching for a week now...

Try carmax if nothing else. You can have them ship a car from any of their places for like 400 bucks. Might find a better deal that way, because where you live, everything seems way expensive.

I have the TCI ratchet shifter, supercharger, and custom tune, and there is no way I could even come close to shifting faster that my auto shifts (in a manual or with my ratchet shifter).

It isn't always about shifting faster, as it is about shifting at the peak time, which an auto and good tune will do consistantly.

But back on topic, I found Carmax to be a little more expensive than some local places. If you want to buy a car in Houston, there are some really good deals at www.texasdirectauto.com

I sold my 43k miles 06 V6 Pony Mustang last month for $11,000. With the 4.10 gears, dual exhaust, CAI & custom tune it was faster then the GT from 0-60.

It also had power sunroof, bigger GT front brakes, 18" GT wheels heated seats, seq turn signals.

I've thought about the TCI and firming up the transmission. My weak spot now is that there isn't any real transmission reprogramming in my tune. My transmission when shifting always feels sluggish compared to when I had a manual. Maybe I just need to spend the money for a new tune.
