K&N airfilters
I've been looking all over this site for threads about KN filters. Have used the search option and marked search threads as well as posts. I've even searched for CAIs and all I get is no matches for your search. I know I'm not real sharp but I know both of those terms are used a lot on this forum so what gives. Well the question I was looking to post was about how well they work in the real world. They claim that the car breathes just as well with thier filter as without any filter. I know it's not the same thing but my old car was carburated and I had a 14X4 KN with thier housing on it. To make a long story short my car was 3 tenths faster without the filter than with it. No I'm not going to run my Mustang without a filter, I'm not that dumb!

If you're talking about a drop-in K&N, it does nothing more than the OE airbox.
If you're talking a K&N CAI, by itself it does almost nothing; maybe 3-5 RWHP at best on the 4.0. Not sure about the 3.7
If you're talking a K&N CAI with a custom tune, then you're talking about 15-20 RWHP gain on the 4.0 (again, not sure about the 3.7). Except the K&N isn't the optimum CAI to use with a custom tune but it's pretty darn close.
