Yes some might be happy. I'll always be chasing that v8 symphony, if I stick with the 6. It'll never have that holy schit growl or mind blowing torque. Yeah so once it's payed off the 6 is coming out. I can fully understand wanting to do the swap. Actually realizing everything it will take $$$, can feel a little daunting at times. Good luck if you choose to do the swap OP.

I'm in the camp where I want my car to be unique but I also have a daughter in college, so my money is already spent. :-) Besides, I'm hoping the 2014 model is a nice package and I'll go with that.

You may want to check out SUPERSIX... They have some upgrade options for your 6 cyl that are interesting. If I was going to look for more power I would definitely consider this.

Too expensive to buy heads and cams and just stay NA.... If you are looking for the best bang for your buck power go FI...

The cost for FI is crazy. Am I wrong? I've decided to just wait and drive my current 2010 model for a few years and then upgrade. IMO it's not worth it. My Mustang is a premium with all the options and leather. I really like the car but I just can't justify dropping another 5 or 6K on FI. I understand the other side of this discussion too. If I had money to burn I would certainly continue to upgrade. It's a lot of fun and gives you a good feeling your car is unique. I totally understand that side as well. :-)

You can find good deals. I have a vortech v3 supercharger that I'm installing soon myself. My total end cost, including dyno tune, is going to be about $2500.

$2,500 is more realistic. Is this a new one or used? Where does someone find these deals? Truthfully I haven't shopped around - I've only looked at the primary vendors and the pricess are too steep for me. I just assumed it wouldn't be cheap. :-)

Hopefully these discussions are helping the OP of this thread decide their upgrade options too. Sorry to keep rambling on...

Thx!

It's used (200 miles on the kit :P). I used the website www.allofcraigslist.com which, get this, searches all of craigslist. lol. Anyway, it's a lot easier than searching through random cities, hoping you find what you want. I just checked it and ebay every day for a while until I found what I wanted.

Centrifugal superchargers are a little cheaper, but they're still awesome.

When buying a used kit, you'll save a lot of coin; but, there' the risk of something being missing or left out. Still, you can nab some really nice systems for under 3k; and as Eddie posted, that's money far well better spent than head work...you'll end up with more powah!

Ok this all sounds good to me, saying stuff about the heads and vortech for under 3000. Now what if you didnt mind spending 5k and got both? It would be sick i would think right? But i would love to get a used vortech. ill check it out.
